ABOUT ME
Award Winning Artist, Art Director, Costume Designer and Educator.
Her work spans multiple performance disciplines, collaborating with directors, performers, and creative teams to build immersive visual worlds.
Specializing in theater, art installation, and film, her work bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design to create visually compelling costumes rooted in storytelling and research.
Her practice centers on sustainability and material transformation, exploring how recycled fabrics, dyes, and found materials can be reimagined into expressive pieces.
With a strong interest in historical accuracy, color and materiality, Malory approaches each project as both a design challenge and a research process, seeking to understand the cultural, temporal, and emotional layers embedded in the production.
After moving from Costa Rica to the United States in 2021, Malory pursued her Master of Fine Arts (UMASS Amherst) in Costume Design for theater, opera, and dance.
She holds a BFA in Theatrical Arts from the Universidad de Costa Rica, where she developed a multidisciplinary foundation in acting, writing, and directing that continues to inform her design practice.
“Costume is not only what we see—it is what we feel, what we remember, and what transforms the performer into story.”
